Pirates blank Lasers, 3-0

IRVINE -- Kamille Cawley scored two goals to help lead the Orange Coast College women's soccer team to a 3-0 Orange Empire Conference win over Irvine Valley College on Tuesday at IVC.

After a frustrating 3-2 loss at Golden West on Friday, the Pirates (6-2-3 overall, 4-2-2 in OEC) clamped down on defense and kept the Lasers off the of the scoreboard the entire match.

Danielle Dapello got the scoring started for Coast when she found the back of the net off of a Karly Freeman assist in the 30th minute of play.

Early in the second half, Cawley scored the first of her two goals off of an assist provided by Jordan Bradley in the game's 58th minute.

It stayed that way until the 89th minute, when Cawley notched her second goal of the match, this time, off of an assist by Karla Romero.

Goalkeeper Emily Harrier saw little action, but when she did, she notched two saves to earn the shutout win.

The Pirates will return to action on Friday at 1 p.m. when they host Norco College at OCC's LeBard Stadium.
