HUNTINGTON BEACH -- Same score, different location for the Orange Coast College women's soccer team as the Pirates repeated a 3-1 victory over Golden West College, this time, at GWC, on Tuesday afternoon.
The Pirates (12-5-2, 7-3-1 in the Orange Empire Conference), who topped GWC 3-1 at Orange Coast back on Oct. 6, were led this time by Stephanie Serrato, who had a pair of goals, while Kaitlyn Eckert added a solo tally of her own.
Pacing the offense was sophomore Leah Martinovich, who picked up all three assists in the win, OCC's fourth in the last five contests. In goal, Chloe Hernandez took care of business and held the Rustlers to just one goal and picked up four saves in the win.
With the Pirates hovering near the playoff bubble, every win counts and the next two matches might prove critical for aspirations beyond the regular season.
Coast will host three straight to end the regular season, starting with first-place Saddleback on Friday at 1 p.m., kicking off a doubleheader of soccer at the OCC Soccer Complex with the Bobcats. The men's team will play at 3 p.m.
