Pirates roll to 7-0 win over Hornets

COSTA MESA -- The goals came early and often for the Orange Coast College women's soccer game, during Tuesday night's 7-0 Orange Empire Conference win over visiting Fullerton at LeBard Stadium.

Emma Pridmore had two goals to lead the Pirates (8-2, 3-2 in OEC), while several other players found their names on the scoresheet.

Sarah MacArthur, Madeline Edwards, Cindy Rubio, Courtney Garrity and Lauren Zapeda each added a goal and an assist for OCC, while Cindy Rubio added a goal.

Individual assists were turned in by Jessica Amaral and Devin Broederlow.

Coast jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first half and never looked back. After MacArthur headed in the first goal of the game just two minutes in, Pridmore's two tallies in the 16th and 23rd minute, respectively, made it 3-0.

Rubio made it 4-0 at the 36th minute and Edwards' goal in the 41st minute closed out the scoring for the first half.

After missing several opportunities throughout the second half, Coast again found the back of the net with back-to-back goals by Zepeda (78th minute) and Garrity (79th).

Goalkeepers Megan Johnson and Emily Harrier each had two saves for the Pirates, who return to the OCC Soccer Complex on Friday at 3 p.m. against rival Golden West.
