Pirates take care of business with 7-1 win over Chargers

COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's tennis team improved to 8-1 overall, 5-1 in the Orange Empire Conference following Thursday's 7-1 win over visiting Cypress.

In singles play, it was a clean sweep for the Pirates, with five straight-set wins and one win by default. Sydney Farzadkish swept past Charger Regina Lewis, 6-0, 6-0 to highlight the singles matches.

In doubles, Farzadkish and teammate Yuri Choi edged out Elizabeth Pal and Ida Sounalath, 8-6.

Following Friday's nonconference match against Mt. San Antonio, OCC will return to action on Tuesday at Riverside City College, beginning at 2 p.m.
