Pirates pick up wins over Santa Monica, Citrus in home Quad

COSTA MESA -- Two Quads, two pairs of wins for the Orange Coast College women's volleyball team following Friday afternoon's victories over Santa Monica and Citrus.

Coast (4-1) opened things up on Friday with a four-set win over SMCC, topping the Corsairs, 25-15, 20-25, 25-17, 25-20. The Pirates relied on sophomore outside hitter Hannah Del Barto for offense and she came through with a match-best 16 kills to go along with eight digs.

Setter Devyn Holland showed off her versatility with eight kills to go along with 27 assists and five digs, while on defense, Rylee Adair notched 17 digs, while Izzy Mariotti added 12 to go along with six kills and three aces.

In the second matchup of the afternoon, Coast again overcame a second-set stumble to dispose of Citrus College, 25-21, 22-25, 25-18, 25-15.

Del Barto again led the way with 17 kills and 11 digs, while the trio of Mariotti (17 assists, 16 digs), Adair (27 digs) and Alibelle Pilimai combined for 21 kills.

Coast will return to action on Wednesday at Santa Ana College in a Quad with Victor Valley (4 p.m.) and Cerro Coso (6 p.m.). OCC's next home match will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 20 against Santiago Canyon at 6 p.m.
