Holland, Adair earn All-OEC honors for Pirates

COSTA MESA -- A pair of Orange Coast College women's volleyball standouts -- sophomore setter Devyn Holland and freshman Rylee Adair were selected for this year's All-Orange Empire Conference team, as voted on by the conference's head coaches at their postseason meeting.

Holland, who came to OCC after spending one season at Rider University, showcased her all-around talents throughout the season and earned a first-team, all-conference selection for 2017.

As the team's setter, Holland led the team with 580 assists and when she wasn't setting, her 189 kills were tops among all hitters. In addition, her 197 digs were third-most on the Pirates. Holland reached double figures in kills nine times, in digs seven times and had 20-or-more assists 16 times.

Perhaps Holland's top all-around performance came on Sept. 22 when she earned a "triple-double" and helped lead the Pirates to a five-set win over Cypress with 14 kills, 20 assists and 10 digs.

Adair, who was a second-team, All-OEC selection this year, came to OCC after a standout prep career at St. Francis (HI) HS and became the team's go-to libero from the opening match of the season. Adair's strong defensive play helped guide the Pirates to the second round of the playoffs and she finished with 501 digs, the third-most in one season in school history.

A steady player on the floor, Adair reached double figures in digs in 25 of her 26 matches played this year, including a season-best 33 against Golden West on Nov. 3.
